Presented By NSA Whistleblower William Binney

William Binney is a former high-level intelligence official in the National Security Agency (NSA), and after resigning from the NSA at the end of October of 2001, he became a whistleblower in September 2002.

William Binney had worked for the NSA for over 30 years, and has been described as one of the best analysts and code breakers in the NSA's history. He became a high-profile critic of the Bush Administration, and he was the subject of an FBI intimidation-investigation that included his home being raided in July of 2007. Binney continues to speak out about the continuation of the NSA's illegal and unconstitutional data collection on Americans, under the Obama Administration.

Binney is also touted as, and is apologetic for, being the creator of PRISM, which is the clandestine mass electronic surveillance data mining program launched by the NSA in 2007. Edward Snowden leaked information about this program in June of 2013.

William Binney now sits on the advisory board of the group that manages a new website, The site provides a safe way for new whistleblowers to come forward and provide information exposing misbehavior in the organizations they work for, using the SecureDrop system through the Freedom of the Press Foundation.
